Windows 10

First topic message reminder :

I personally plan on getting it the day it comes out, since it will be free for a year.
(Free to install for a year, meaning that if you install it within the year, it will last forever)

Do you guys plan on getting it?
I would dualboot Linux, but my laptop has really bad compatibility with it.

start menu wasn't an issue, but 10 seems like MS finally stopped doing sh*t and are caring more about making good stuff. Finally.

I didn't really care about the start menu being "gone". The functions that were in the startmenu were just moved around a bit, and were very easy to find. It does take a little bit getting used to. The whole new UI was very refreshing, since I was using Windows 7 and XP for the longest time. It was time for a change in the visual department. :P

I did notice that Windows 8.1 used new drivers. But other than that, it's nearly the same as Windows 8.

Hard to tell if that's accurate, I use a MacBook to run Windows, so the drivers are not the easiest to find. (ESPECIALLY THE FUCKING WIFI DRIVERS, THAT sh*t TOOK ME LIKE 4 MONTHS WITHOUT THE BOOTCAMP DVD)

In my case, my laptop was unsupported by Apple, so I kinda had to trick the driver installation into thinking that it was Windows 7. Everything worked for the most part. Except for a constant BSOD at startup, but I figured out how to fix it pretty easily.

I think it's both drivers are deleted, and are now incompatible. I tried installing Windows 7 drivers in Windows 8.1, and they would fail. But if I did the same thing in Windows 8, it would work fine.

weird stuff. but drivers were ok for me. only problem was... compatibility with programs.
Also, what do you think about RT?

Never got to use RT, but from what I've heard, it's slow and has almost no programs besides shitty metro apps from the Windows store.
