| Yeah, I don't really know much about this kind of stuff so...
There are some people who planning on bring it back, at least for SWBF1 and SWBF2. Dunno about ES/RS or any other games.

| If the servers are still working until the "Due date" could we possibly still use the ips for SWBRS or ES for the time being? | |

| Yeah, for now. Apparently SWBFGamers has a new master server up, but I don't know if it works with the PSP games or not. | |

| Apparently SWBFGamers is planning to at least bring back the PS2 versions of SWBF1/SWBF2. They aren't entirely clear on whether ES/RS will be supported, but from what I'm getting they should work.
However, so far the PC servers don't even work. :P

| If we did get it to work... I suppose that'd actually make us alive again? It's worth to be considered, imo. | |

| I agree. Especially if we can get it working with more than just the Battlefront games. Personally, I'd like to see Godzilla Save The Earth on PS2 running online again. :P
Of course, I wouldn't bother with getting other games working until ES/RS are working. If we get this working, that might convince to stop being lazy and change my router's security settings to work with the PSP again.

| Well, I'll read a little bit of that to see if I can figure out whether it is simple to do it or not. | |

| Tomorrow (May 31st) is the last day to play online with Gamemaster unfortunately. However, if anyone wants to play ES/RS, I'll probably be on from around 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM (EST Time), if anyone's interested. | |

| It appears I can't log into Gamemaster's servers anymore....
R.I.P. ES/RS/Gamemaster
I guess there's still emulators but I'm not a big fan of using Tunngle/Hamachi/GameRanger or whatever. And it appears the SWBFGamers community doesn't plan on supporting ES/RS, which is a huge shame. Most of SWBFGamers/Gametoast aren't big fans of ES/RS or the new game, so I wouldn't count on them adding PSP support. At least SWBF1/SWBF2 are still working...

| They're still online thanks to SWBFGamers, but their servers either don't work with or are not set up to work with ES/RS. | |

| Hey guys, to keep you updated, although GameMaster has closed down, the people over at SWBFGamers.com have gotten some help from Kalle (the developer of GameMaster) to set up their own GameSpy workaround. It is called SWBFspy and as of last night it is working just fine on both Battlefront 1 and 2 on Playstation 2. The people who made it were very nice and supported the PS2 players. I am sure that if you guys showed interest and gave them all the detailed information that they needed, then they would try their best to support the PSP games also.
If you guys wanted to do that I would make a topic here called PSP support or something similar: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?board=134.0
The working Primary DNS number to use on Playstation 2 is 74.91.125.138. Also 186.34.189.167 aka Christians DNS also works as a backup.
EDIT: If you look in this thread: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=10541.0It seems like Led, who helped me greatly with PS2, would be willing to try and help with PSP.

| The DNS servers they had were not special at all, anybody could host DNS from home.. What I'm interested in getting is software that emulates GameSpy servers... If I could do that, perhaps I could run a little DNS from home so we could use SWES again, but I doubt it. I doubt distributing GameSpy source code, especially that of the server variety is very legal lol. | |

| Not that I'm undermining their project, what they had going was awesome, but with the right amount of free time, you can set up a DNS server of your own. The hard part is getting a GameSpy login server running... Jesus. | |

| Here's Gamemaster's source, with it you can get a ton of games back online: https://github.com/derkalle4?tab=repositories
But really all we need is ES/RS and maybe Godzilla Save The Earth :P

does it matter? GameSpy went down. Yes, because if you custom build your dns server to redirect all traffic from GameSpy IP to a server of your own, you could effectively restore services to gamespy games, as long as their dns is set to your server. DNS is like the phonebook of the internet, you type in youtube.com, it finds the IP. Same with Gamespy, your game looks for gamespy, and DNS has to grab the IP addresses. That's how gamemaster worked.
