Over the moon about this...
Everybody already knew tho. I don't get why all the reviewers are going crazy about this when these interviews have been online for months:
Yes. I feel they could have done a lot of things better in WD. Now they have another shot with WD2

Of course. The e3 2012 wd demo showed the world the future of gaming. It needs to exist as a buyable game. It has to exist. Everyone loved wd and this is probably the only ubsoft game which people want a sequel to.

Rumors spreading of destructible environments like Battlefield, but I'm sure they are what they are...rumors

Well, its all about the physics. E.g. when you crash a car into a wall, you expect it to shatter into pieces properly. its about getting that. WD was mostly spot on with objects in the road e.g. bus shelters, but not with walls, etc. And there was very little cover you could destroy (some, sure), etc.
its all about making objects manipulate correctly in response to the player.

oh, I see. Unfortunately (for me) we'd never have BF-like destruction. blowing up a building in an open-world game would be so awesome. But it'd never work.

The future is more realism and blowing up a building counts, lol. ofc, most games such as GTA and WD would never be able to pull that off. A vigilante or criminal blowing up a building would break the realism element both games have as everyone knows that their cities would be flooded with FBI, cops, Army to shut them down so wouldn't work.
However, we will see that again for sure from war games.
Fyi: Look at Rainbow six siege. A tactical hostage rescue game where every environment is destructible.

Oh I got to play the beta a bit for Siege. I really enjoyed it but I don like the team kill element as people could easily get frustrated and screw the whole team.
But yeah again about the destruction model for cities, I was basing it off of Red Faction games and Just Cause series

team kill is more realistic, makes you have to control yourself. On some games, you can simply fire if you see a person. If it is a teammate,he won't be damaged. I actually enjoy games with Friendly Fire.
