The Needed Files to Play ES Online Full Tutorial |||OUTDATED|||

First of all, if you're here, you want to play your beloved ES game online again. If you're not here for that, then this guide is not for you.

Do not use Pro Online. It is very unstable and often does NOT work!
Please use Hamachi instead.


Requirements :
Newest JPCSP build ( http://buildbot.orphis.net/jpcsp/ ) \\ Get 64 bit if you use 64 bit Windows
Java ( https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp ) \\ Get 64bit if you got 64 JPCSP
Hamachi ( https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/download.aspx ) \\Go for unmanaged
A ISO or CSO copy of Elite Squadron ( http://pastebin.com/tKNFu9R0 )

And that's it!

Install Java, and then download and unzip JPCSP.

Now, run JPCSP via the "start-JPCSP-64".bat file.
When you open it, we must go and edit some settings.
Click options.
And then click Settings.


Now, go to the region tab and make sure you make a nickname and change your language to English.


Now, go to your network settings and make sure it looks EXACTLY like this :

You will need this for Hamachi.

Download and install Hamachi, and create an account. After your account is created, click on "Join Network".

Our current network name is SWBES with no password.

Now, load the UMD ISO of ES, CSO also works too.
Use Ad-Hoc to play online.
Enjoy!



If you are having trouble finding your ISO or CSO in JPCSP, then go into the settings and change the UMD path to where your ISO is, as you can see here.


After this is all setup, I would advise the use of a USB gamepad or bluetooth controller. Playing ES with a keyboard isn't fun.

In part one, I will cover everything you need to play ES. The part where you actually go online again will be in part 2.

Make sure the first tick in the network tab is ticked.

And we should be able to use USB controllers. Or, use Fusa Gamepad on your PSP to use it as a USB gamepad.

I've used it for a long time. Works well.

You could also use a Vita as a remote too. Also, please don't quote giant posts, because that effectively doubles the size of the page! xD

For anyone who is having the same issues as Dan, just uninstall Java 32 and 64 bit. And then reinstall Java 64 bit. Then JPCSP should run.

It's too bad I don't own a USB gamepad. :\

I'm used to playing emulated game's with a keyboard though, so I'll live with it.

Keyboard is pretty shitty, but you can get used to it. You can also use your PSP as a remote too.

yea, before we got it to work without but then it stopped working, hamachi has been more stable so yea

I added whatever IP is in the picture. So if that's yours, I did.

It has to be the ipv4 when you right click my name in hamachi

Clean install of what? If you're referring to JPCSP, then it's not really worth it to delete and reinstall JPCSP just to get it to work on ProOnline again. You already have to change a million settings to get it to run fast, nobody wants to reinstall it too.

Maybe in the future there will be better Pro Online support, to where we don't need to use Hamachi or other sh*t. Until then, we're stuck with this.
