so I'm planning on making the switch to the next gen consoles this year, anyone else going to this year?

I probably am not... Just like I got the PS3 at the end of its lifetime, Ill probably only get a PS4 at the end of its lifetime.

I'm planning to, especially if Godzilla PS4 has something new other than Multiplayer.

I'm not going until PS4 has a bigger hard drive. I don't wanna upgrade or anything like that, i want it to be perfect straight out the box.

Its easy to upgrade lol. On Sony consoles it takes 10 secs.

I know. But i just have this thing about stuff i buy being perfect from the moment i buy it.

lol. I like upgrading my stuff. I like DIY stuff. Thats one of the reasons for me liking programming.

I think next gen is somewhat overrated. Its nice and all, but only a small fraction of the PS4 games actually utilize the next gen graphics capabilities. Most of the games use the graphics of late last gen. If its a dual release for last gen and current gen, they typically dumb-down the last gen graphics and make the next gen graphics the equivalent of late last gen graphics so that less money is spent and so the games on last gen console seems crappier than the next gen. 

There are people like me who say the same thin I'm going to say: graphics may help a game in likability, but it certainly doesn't make a game likeable. I play games for the gameplay, not the graphics. I realize Next gen features a lot more than better graphics, but I still like my PS3 and I think the console still has some life in it. 

Now, if Destiny 2 comes out only for PS4, then I'll probably consider getting one. But right now, I don't even think its anywhere near ready for release lol.

Persona 5 is coming for both ps3 and 4

Godzilla is as well, that might be my main reason for buying a PS4, new content that the PS3 version didn't have. If it ends up being the same but with slightly better graphics, then I probably won't bother buying a PS4 unless the new Battlefront is good.

If I get a PS4, it will be for Persona 5 (even though it'll also come for PS3) or if Gravity Rush 2 isn't available on the Vita.

I think you should get a ps4

why's that? I won't get a PS4 for the PS4. I would get it if any exceptional games are there.

yewa the jump from ps2 to ps3 isnt as big as the jump from ps3 to ps4

I thought the jump from PS2 to PS3 was pretty massive. With all the new things like PSN, and a web browser all in the PS3, which the PS2 lacked, it was a whole different world.

online multiplayer was weird on the 2.

Probably. It sucks i know, but i've got some important stuff coming up in the next few years, a massive library of 60 PS3 games, 2/3 of which are untouched and not a lot of spare time and not a lot of money.

So....way i see it, a PS4 right now would be a product i'm not entirely happy with, bought with money i don't own, with practically nobody to play with, with few games i'm interested in, with no time to play.

A ps4 1 or 2 years from now would be a product i'm happy with, with games i like (but had to wait a while for) at a reasonable cost, a console bought with my own money at a reasonable cost, with much more spare time to play on it.

I'm most bothered about missing Arkham Knight. So hyped for that game. But, oh well, it'll have to wait.

The next console I'll buy will probably be a New 3DS XL.

I both want and don't want a 3DS at the same time. I want it for the game library, but I don't want it because of the far inferior hardware... And the dual screens. I hate dual screens.

It's not important. On the DS, devs focus more on making good games instead of worrying about graphics (one of the least important factors)

In general, a lot of people over the last year complained about 3DS' inferior hardware and bad graphics quality. 

That said, its undeniable that the games are good.

On the other hand, other consoles have amazing graphics but not so good games.

Nah, 90% console games better than handheld.

No way that EVERY 3DS GAME PUT TOGETHER can beat Bioshock mate :P
