PostSubject: My 180* USD Gaming Rig Annihilates PS3 and Xbox 360   Thu Oct 15, 2015 9:38 pm

Some of you may have noticed that I was talking about building a gaming rig, and I finally did it!
And now I've done some testing, and even recorded a video to show you guys just how amazing this rig performs for 180 dollars... Much better than a PS3 would ever do.

Here are the specifications of this "beast" that can even run Battlefront if the CPU and RAM are upgraded.

Core 2 Duo E6500 @ 2.33GHz, 4MB L2 Cache
4GB(soon to be 8GB) of DDR2 RAM running at 800MHz
Nvidia GTX 750 Ti (MSI 2GB Gaming Edition)
160GB HDD(soon to be a SSD)
1280x1024 LED backlit monitor

Here are the results of several hours of gaming on this wonder of a machine :
Call of Duty : Black Ops 2 - 60FPS ALL the time. Period. Ultra settings, and it still ran perfectly.
Call of Duty : Black Ops 1 - Severe stuttering, it must be buggy because I screwed with it.
Call of Duty : World at War - Ultra everything, 60FPS ALLLLL THE TIME.
Dead Island - 60 FPS all of the time, if there has ever been slow down, I sure as hell haven't noticed.
Gary's Mod - 60FPS all of the time in anything other than sandbox. Sandbox can be 40FPS when people are spamming props and doing stupid sh*t. Other than that, perfect performance.
Sauerbraten Collect Edition - 60FPS all the damn time, 100% max settings too.

More games will be tested when I get the time to download them.

Here's one more bonus from the cheap rig I made, the 750 Ti has shadowplay support, which means I can record my gameplay without a capture card, and it wont suck ass! Infact, I recorded some ultra settings in Black Ops 2 zombies, 720P 60FPS and I will upload it tonight to show you guys.(The aspect ratio might be fucked up, shadow play settings are hard to work with for new people) Over all I am VERY happy with the gaming performance of this machine, it is certainly worth the price.
Here are some pictures to keep you guys while I wait to upload my footage, this sh*t is going to be cool!

Here's the video. It wont be up for about an hour, but it should be 60FPS. It's only a few minutes long, but 720P 60FPS eats a TON of HDD space, space I don't have yet, so I had to keep it short. Sorry.

Actually, it's doing much better than I thought it would! I thought DDR2 would crush this machine, but surprisingly, it holds up really well!

Nice! It's really inexpensive, I might try to make one (I still need a desktop PC), after I get a new PS Vita, mine's broken, and my fix doesn't work anymore.... Also, it broke 1 day after I got another game for it.... which pisses me off.

Maybe I'll go for the PS TV.... I really want to platinum Gravity Rush and to finish Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment.

Don't go the exact build that I did. If I were you, I would go for a full Dell 760 tower PC, do not go with low form factor, I had to modify the computer just to fit the card in. With a full sized machine you wouldn't have to deal with that.
