Inactivity

Today I finally got a breather in my life....so I thought I would hop on here to check out how FGN is doing; seems I have some catching up to do. While I'm on here, I might as well explain why I have been inactive and the reason I can not fully commit to an active role in this community at this time.

Very few of you know, but I suffered a severe head injury (Traumatic Brain Injury) that has caused me to have several health issues. For some days, I was in the hospital -- unresponsive and in critical condition. 

Reason I'm saying this is first, I didn't want to make it seem like I just disappeared randomly. Secondly, I have a long road to recovery which means I am still suffering from symptoms such as irritability, etc. I will try to come on this site as much as I can, but please take into consideration that I may not fully be myself (easily confused, saying things that don't make sense, etc) during the recovering process.

On behalf of everything I rambled on about, I hope to become active on this site again :D (and I don't have to finish school, so my expected time of being active again in August is history)

wow I cant imagine that, hope you recover as fast as possible! glad your at least partially back, wasn't the same without you

Thanks guys, can't wait to be active again :) And yeah, I couldn't believe it was happening and to this day I'm still somewhat in denial that it happened...like we don't think everyday if we're going to die until it hits so close to home.

The only good thing about all of this though is it changed my father's view of me, meaning he realized how precious and fragile life can be. It took a text message from my brother saying something like "Your daughter is fighting for her life but all you care about is yourself" and a picture and then minutes later he was at my bedside.

But anyways, I'm getting better, just not as fast as I would like. They expect me to make full recovery in about year -- hopefully it will not take that long.

......I don't even know what to say. I'm really sorry to hear about this and i hope you recover soon. Take as much time as you need and remember we're always at the end of a webpage if you ever wanna talk about anything. I can't imagine what its like and i hope you feel okay at least and you'll be fine. Also, i hope we'll have an active site when you come back and i promise we'll try build that because i know you'd love it.

Me too. As far as kids go, Nat is very polite and well mannered which can't be said for a lot of people these days. (especially in my country).

I think he's getting there. He's way more "courteous" persay & not to seem as strict with rules. Now its the time I should slowly find a way to talk him into letting me try coffee :P

If you don't mind telling us, what happened? Accident? If you do not feel comfortable telling us, then I understand. Sorry if you already have said so in another topic, I have been inactive lately due to family issues and other stuff. Get better soon Nat! :(

Yeah tell me about it, I haven't felt the same since then :P Anyways, I got struck in the head by something hard at school (guessing a bookbag?) that left me nonfunctional for a couple days... then I felt better, so I went back to school but it turned out I wasn't near any better. What my classmates told me was I lost consciousness and struck my head as I fell out of my seat. 

Dr's. says it's a miracle that I even woke up given how unstable my brain was.

Pssshh you kidding me I'm too old to be grounded :P But he asked me if there was anything I needed just to let him know, so I was like "is coffee deemed important?", so he replied "well you need something to wake you up, I can't have you getting up every morning half-asleep". And now we have a coffee pot lol

The funny thing is my father got a coffee pot but never bought coffee beans or whatever you use to make coffee, so I thought he was just doing it to irritate me but I guess I keep forgetting that I'm not allowed to drink caffeine under my therapist's order...just waiting for that one day...
