Solo by me

Finally have a recording of me playing a solo for one of my field show :D 4:10 is where I start my solo...was a challenge for me, even for an experienced player.

Hum, its quite different from my orchestra.

Good job. I know how hard solos can be, not only because they are often technically hard, but playing alone makes the player very nervous. I know this from experience, and I know it is hard. Once again, good job.

I was totally nervous because at any time, I could forget the music (have to memorize), not hit the right note, taking too many breathes and/or be too loud. I got really nervous towards the end because I had to hit a really high note that I only hit a couple times. I don't know if you could see but towards the end of my solo, I had to bend back to get more air to pass through my horn so I could reach the high note which I didn't succeed in hitting because I didn't have enough air to push through. 
Then the other challenge of it was I had to be exactly on time for the dancers or it would throw them off.

And how different from your orchestra, Mario? :p

Well done! My band director who also wrote the music we played was nob about that kind of thing and never gave me any - always gave it to the sax player or the trumpet players despite the fact i had the most grades out of anyone in guitar.

wow, just watched the video, just wow. no school in Britain does anything that big ever. Shame really.

Here, we barely have people who play (except the orchestra), so sometimes I'm asked to go and play (during schooltime, so I get to skip some boring classes :D), and our orchestra goes to Sevilla and play there. Thats most of it.

@Mario, ah for us we have 3 ensemmbles; concert band (traditional instruments), jazz band(traditional instruments w/ guitarist & vocalist) and orchestra (only strings unless for bigger event when traditional instruments r used). Marching Band is the same thing as Concert Band but it is a physical activity outside than sitting inside. Since our band competes, we travel & I get to miss a ton of school at peak time.

Just curious if your guys countries have marching band or something similiar (prob more of the bigger schools)? I know its an international thing but i know alot of schools in America that even hav a band.

At school, we don't. R ur schools like in the movies?

idk honestly but some new thing about hiding identities to the public from News networks. But many don't follow it,

it stupid, especially for band cuz we look the same w/ our uniform + the hat covers a portion

The football/rugby team, whatever just goes, plays rugby, goes back home.


We do have bands, but much smaller and just play at select events, never football matches.

Sucks really, you guys get such a good atmosphere from that.

I think it's rugby.

No, not at all.

We have rugby, which is similar.

I think US football is a different version of Rugby with slightly different rules but same prinicpal.

No baseball either, but we have cricket which i believe is practically the same thing, but with a flat bat instead of a round one.
