To Move or Not to Move?

I've been having more then a few people tell me they don't want to move, so we are gonna have a poll.
feel free to post your reasons for wanting to move/stay

On a new site, we would be able to control everything, make all changes we want to, and backup any time we want to. Also, it is more professional than having a Forumotion site, and will attract more people.

This is my opinion.

Mario, I appreciate and applaud all the hard work you have put into the site but I don't think we really have a big need to move to a new site yet. The only thing was we have some minor flaws in Admin panel unless Dan/Dark says others.

I have been on this site since I joined, and well I'm just use to this site. I understand if we moved to your site you created, we would have more control of content, etc.

However, when we were on SWBF, we had no issues with this site so I don't see the need to move.

I voted 'I don't care'

I don't think we should move yet:
-No real reason
- don't have a good enough setup yet as i think that if we move we should have the new site set up professionally by a proper web developer who can accommodate everything we had planned in VIP.

When you think about it, we'd just be trading one site which we have SOME control over for another which we have A LITTLE MORE CONTROL over. Mario, you can't do all the things we want, we all know that and we don't expect you to, and whilst the new site would provide a little more control, it wouldn't be total creative freedom like we want.

I don't think we should move until we have a site which is perfect, made by professional people who can do everything we want and provide us total control and creative freedom over all the site. And if that costs money, which is will, sure, whatever. In a few years, i'll donate some, ik dan will and so will others and we'll build it later when we have time to finalise plans, communicate with a developer who can build everything we want and make the site perfect.

I see little point to moving now to a site which we may not be totally happy with and which we may end up moving from a bit down the line.

However, i don't care about stats or anything like that, the people make the site and if the people and the atmosphere move, it'll be fine. It would also be cool to have a change of scenery. 

However, i do like forumotion as its features imo are all defined and a good size. the new site has tiny buttons on, etc. and ik that can be changed, but i'd want it all changed. I don't wanna be a precision clicker to use our clan. A change of scenery would also be nice, but i don't really want it too remind me of past sites i've been on. I want FGN to be our own site, totally unique, etc.

If you want, build you site for now, show us what you can do, and show us what creative freedom you can give us without creating too many forums, etc. i.e. create a few groups, and show us how the site can look different, offer us more themes, etc and then we'll decide.

I don't care either way, just stop this "Topics Since Last Login" Glitch.

you know, a "professional" will use PHPBB too... Its just a matter of getting the correct plugins. We don't have a little more control. We have full control over the site.

We cant do everything we want now, like make a store, use the buttons we have now, ect..

We can make a PHPBB theme. Send me the links for buttons, and ill make a phpbb3 theme.
And we CAN make a store. Do you want me to do that? What would we sell?
VIP? I personally think we should sell VIP subscriptions, and make some of the VIP & Staff forums hidden from VIPs.

I mean a FGN points store,

FGN Points store should be asy to set up.

Also, a new server with PHPBB installed (like the one I set up) does give us total freedom with every single file on the server.
Even if it weren't true, it would still be more freedom than having Forumotion here not helping.

Yeah, but what about the other things we wanted...things we can't talk about in public for obvious reasons. you said yourself that you cannot manipulate the PHP code and give us that.

And thats okay...we don't expect this from any member.
