| So I have a MKV file of a movie. There's some music that was not released as part of the sound track, so I was wondering, would it be possible to take the audio from scenes and remove the sound effects? | |

| Its possible, but you need pro 1 thousand dollar software and good skill.
When sound is mixed down from separate tracks onto a single track for addition onto a movie or something, data is stored which allows it to go the other way so to speak in future.
Idk if audacity will do that (its free software, google it)
I know it will let you mix down into one track, but idk about the other way. You could try it.
pros use really expensive software.
Sony do some very good software for that kind of thing. You can even convert MP3 files into the same format videogames use for their tracks, lol.

| videogames use different encoders. Its not one single encoder only. | |

I've had Audacity for a while, but it can't open the movie file because (obviously) it's a movie. If I convert it to something like MP3 that might work, but it's a 2 hour movie so I'd get a 2 hour mp3 file. | |
