PC gaming and Console gaming, the bullshit that gets put on you

Hey everyone, I want to share the bullshit fact with you guys, that newer games are bloated and force you to buy newer hardware to run, even though they could run on older stuff if they add support for it.

Here is a good example
BF4. Minimum requirements:

Dual core CPU (Intel Core i5 or AMD “Bulldozer”).
At least 4 GB main system memory
Graphics card with at least 512 MB of VRAM and support for DirectX 10
30+ GB of harddrive space
Windows Vista

Weird, PS3's and Xbox 360's don't have nearly as much memory as that! But BF4 runs fine!

PS3 RAM = 256MB, Graphics memory = 256MB

Xbox 360 RAM = 512MB (256 used for games, 256 used for graphics)

Weird right? The games run perfectly fine on old ass hardware, but my PC that has 2GB of RAM and 256MB of graphics memory can't run anything new!

It seems to me that PC gaming is a scam, you buy a new game, and you must upgrade your hardware every year or so, just to keep up with the games, PS3 on the otherhand doesn't have hardware upgrades, yet everything runs fine on it, yes I know, the graphics are not as good, but that's the point, they can't do that with PC's? Of course not! Why add support for that when you can force people to go buy newer hardware?

Pure bullshit.

Oh, and before you guys tell me "well it's just that game", I would like you to know that ALL newer games are like this! Don't fall into the bullshit scam!

But, BF4 for the PC has next-gen (or almost next-gen) features. 32vs32 players, awesome graphics and details... You cant compare BF4 on the PS3 with BF4 on the PS4 or PC.

BF3 is the same too. All of the CoD games are like that too.

I can't even run BO2 on my PC. Nor can I run MW3.

Reasons why I'm a console gamer...

1st: PC hardware is way too expensive.

2nd: PC has a lot of compatibility issues. Consoles are straight forward and all games made for it work.

3rd: You have to upgrade your PC all the time for new games.

Those are very good reasons. I wish that PC games weren't like this, instead they should be like console games, supporting older hardware, straightforward shit.

Like what? BF3 for PC is different from BF4 for PC. BF4 has better graphics.

Yeah, but the point is, that you can't run BF4 on a PC, unless it can handle the high graphics, it's like they want you to buy new hardware, when you shouldn't have to, the minimum requirements are so much higher than they should be

My "crappy" Xbox 360 can run Kotor with its very crappy original xbox emulator yet my PC can't run it when it has 2x more power then what the requirments says it needs. Overall, consoles > PC in gaming. Especially the PS4.

Well, consoles WERE made for gaming. Also, there are few models, so, no incompatibility.

Plus, consoles are so much cheaper and very reliable. If I had the choice of getting a very advanced PC for gaming or get a PS4 or even a Xbox 360, id chose one of those 2 consoles.

Me too. My dad has a PS4 so when I go on vacations with him I will finish ACIV, I couldnt do it on Christmas :P

I completely agree with everything you've said, the only I prefer PC Gaming is for mods.

PC > Consoles.

Consoles are capped at 60 fps, Play a game in 200+ fps and you wont even think about playing on console.

Also you don't have the requirements for Kotor if you're not on the following OS.

PS3 and Xbox specs are far different compared to PC. Also, majority of PC games are made with graphics in mind. High graphics even on low settings.

^compatibillty issues. So your going to have to chose which you'd rather play, new games with newer os or old game with old os.

It's like trying to play Nintendo games on a Sony system. Nothing to do with compatibility.

i dont get all into the newer pc games so i have no issues pc gaming

Well, old games run fine. New gamee try to have th best graphics... obviously run better in new systems

Neither do I, the newest PC game I have is SWTFU2 and it runs fine on my PC, except Kamino because of the rain. And KOTOR works perfectly on my Windows 7, I've yet to try my Windows 8 though.

For PC, the newest game I got(excluding Guncraft) is Medal of Honor 2010, and it runs good on my AMD A4 Vision Dual-Core laptop with W8 Pro.

But still, most old PC games don't work for new PC systems but most old console games do work for newer consoles.

oh, they do? Nope. PS3 games cant be played in PS4, Xbox 360 and One is the same, PS2 games cant be played in newer models (excluding the ones in PSN), and well thats it

Oh, but it is compatibility issues, they make newer games incompatible on PURPOSE just to make me go out and buy a new piece of hardware, so they can make more money. I'm not falling for it, if BF4 can run on PS3 or Xbox 360, it SHOULD RUN ON MY PC TOO.
